Free CD Burning Software – Burnatonce

There are so many CD/DVD burning tools available online, and it is often easier to get confused on which one to use.Many times people even go for paid applications, without reasearching about the availability of free tools and their features. If you do your research well, you may quite often find a free tool that has all that you wanted.

Burnatonce is one such CD authoring application that burns discs at lightening fast speeds.It has several good features to make it a more complete cd authoring program! Though the earlier versions of Burnatonce had quite a few bugs, this free CD burner has now evolved into a full scale burning tool which is equivalent or in some cases, more superior to other contemporaries in the market.

Burnatonce can be used to write existing images which are in cue/bin, toc/dat or iso format as well as compiling data and audio cds from various files.

The main burnatonce window in it’s default view is quite simple with only one button that is used to start the write process. To write a previously prepared image to disc, all the user needs to do after configuring burnatonce is to load the image and the press “Write”. To configure, go to “Settings” –> “Device Settings” and configure CD Writer settings i.e. Select the device that will be used for writing cds(from the drop-down). To read a CD or DVD, configure the Read Settings by selecting the device that will be used for reading cds.

Burnatonce is project based meaning that to create an audio cd for example, the user firsts compiles the project from the Audio CD Mastering window into the Main Window. Writing of the project is then started by pressing the “Write” button. The media inserted into the cd writer is then checked and if it is a cdrw the user may be prompted to erase the disc. After writing has completed the user may make another copy simply by pressing the “Write” button again.

A disc image can be loaded into burnatonce either by double clicking it in explorer or by choosing ‘Load New Image’ from the ‘File’ menu.Also a data or audio cd project can be loaded by pressing ‘Compile’ in the relevant mastering window.

  • Burnatonce now implements ISO9660:1999, which supports over 200 characters for file and folder names and has no limit how deep the folder is situated in the hierarchy of folders.
